WHAT’S NEW

THURSDAY: Hite curatorial MA candidate Kathryn Brooks discusses their thesis exhibit at 21c, as part of Artists Talk with LVA on WXOX 97.1 FM at 10 AM.

FRIDAY: Outsider Art Museum & Gallery opens Quilts, with work from Susan Zepeda, Denise Furnish, Sunshine Joe, Rebekah Seigel, Penny Sisto, Karen Abney, Janet Estes, Terri Burt, and UofL MFA Fiber students. There will be a reception from 5 to 8 pm.

FRIDAY: The Portland Museum is opening RESIDUALS: Interiors and Exteriors by Dean Thomas, tonight from 5 to 8 PM

FRIDAY: KMAC is once again honored to host the Gold Key and American Vision Nominees Exhibition for 2026 with a reception tonight from 5-7:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public.

FRIDAY: In conjunction with Kentucky Opera's production of Songbird, Louisville Visual Art is exhibiting Jessica Beel's Recycled Bird Project. The production runs February 13, 15, & 17 and will also be in place for the Kentucky Opera's fundraiser, the Opera Rhapsody Gala on February 20th.

SATURDAY: WXOX: A Decade on the Dial is tonight from 6 pm - 12 am. Returning to the historic Columbia Theater to celebrate 10 Years on 97.1 FM with a night of music, art, and entertainment that no one will forget! A ticketed event to benefit WXOX/Artfm.

KyCAD’s Gallery 849 opened SNACKS, a solo exhibition by Lauren Gregory, a multidisciplinary show that brings together contemporary quilting, painting, and animation, exploring storytelling and the space where tradition meets technology.

The Hite Institute of Art + Design opened, Maybe Kudzu Covering My Body: Camouflage in the South, tonight at The Cressman Center. A group exhibition featuring work by borealis, Jacob Riddle, Katie Hargrave & Meredith Laura Lynn, Max Trumpower, Elle Hendrickson, Raymond Thompson & more.

Black Girls, Butterflies, & the Magic of Dreams opened at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage.

The Cultural Arts Center in New Albany is showing Estuary: a Staff and Community Artist Showcase. This exhibit features the artwork of Floyd County Library and Cultural Arts Center staff artists Josh Bleecker, Al Gorman, Jessica Hartman, Bethany Parrish, and Daniel Vance, as well as Fred DiGiovanni, Hannah Durham, and Matt McDermott of the museum’s Artists Roundtable Feedback Group.

Pathways to Presence is an installation of permanent outdoor sculptures by Jessica Beels, Casey Dressell, and Matt Weir, curated by Anne Borders for the Curate Purchase Inspire program through LVA, located at the Earth and Spirit Center.
