THURSDAY: With Insects We Share the Same Light, curated by Clare Hirn, opens at MaybeItsFate on May 9th. Clare discusses her curatorial debut with Margaret Carreiro, Professor of Biology Emerita, University of Louisville. Tune into Artists Talk with LVA on WXOX 97.1 FM at 10 AM.
THURSDAY: In conjunction with the LSA Reunion Show, Buddy Colucci, Fred Maurer (Difrenzi), and Art Orr are giving a gallery talk at Bourne-Schweitzer Gallery today from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

SATURDAY: MaybeItsFate opens two new exhibitions for the summer with a reception tonight from 5 - 8 pm: With Insects We Share the Same Light, curated by Clare Hirn, invites viewers to deepen their appreciation for insects — Earth's most diverse organisms and ecological cornerstone for over 350 million years — and to reflect on their critical role and increasing vulnerability in the Anthropocene era.
Conscious Collective: A Painter's View, curated by Aaron Lubrick, brings together a diverse group of artists united by their dedication to painting, exploring themes of shared humanity, interconnectedness, and optimism through deliberate, contemplative works that foster a sense of celebration and camaraderie within the broader community.

Bourne-Schweitzer Gallery opened The LSA Reunion Show, a special exhibition celebrating the legacy of the Louisville School of Art. Founded in 1909, LSA was Kentucky’s only four-year professional college of art, first located at the University of Louisville, then in Anchorage from 1969 to 1981, and finally at The Cloister in Louisville until 1985.
Moremen Gallery hosts Natural Formations, sustainably made paintings and sculptures by Karen Boone.
Kentucky Fine Art Gallery opened Equus, a group show featuring the works of Jeaneen Barnhart, Jaime Corum, Susan Hackworth, Robert Halliday, and David O. Schuster.

The Cultural Arts Center in New Albany is showing Estuary: a Staff and Community Artist Showcase. This exhibit features the artwork of Floyd County Library and Cultural Arts Center staff artists Josh Bleecker, Al Gorman, Jessica Hartman, Bethany Parrish, and Daniel Vance, as well as Fred DiGiovanni, Hannah Durham, and Matt McDermott of the museum’s Artists Roundtable Feedback Group.
