Create with Leaves at Louisville Visual Art

Join Louisville Visual Art for an afternoon of family-friendly artmaking as part of Louisville Tree Week. Participants will create their own greeting cards using leaves as both inspiration and medium.

Using blank card templates featuring quotes from artists and activists, participants will experiment with leaf pounding, a technique that transfers the natural colors and patterns of leaves directly onto paper. Come explore the colors, textures, and shapes of the natural world through this hands-on artmaking activity.

Free and open to all families.

This activity will also be offered on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Alberta Jones Park.

Louisville Visual Art’s Tree Week programming invites participants to experience the natural world through an artistic lens, turning leaves, color, and texture into opportunities for creativity and connection.
