Multicultural Mask Making

5-session residency where students work with an LVA artist to create hand-made masks based on the subject of your choosing, with an emphasis on recycled materials and found objects. The perfect complement to theatre, storytelling classes, history and current events, social studies, and literature lessons. Online classes available if necessary. All classes include supplies, instruction, 2-D and 3-D design, sharing and reflection.

Be Your Own Hero: Adventures in Comic Autobiographies

5- session residency where students work with LVA artist to create handmade comics about their lives and learn the importance of autobiographical comics as a literary medium and how stories connect us. This workshop is a great complement to academic subjects such as social studies, history, art, creative writing, a great addition to any memoir centered English lessons. All classes include supplies, instruction, 2-D and/or 3-D design, sharing and reflection.

LVA’s artists will work closely with you to develop a dynamic project that explores the academic subject of your choosing. Think theater and set design, history, current events, literature, what will work for you? All classes include supplies, instruction, 2/D and/or 3-D design, sharing and reflection.

The World Accordion to Me – an Accordion Book

5-session residency where students will work with an LVA artist to create a handmade accordion book. Students will develop a theme for their books, complete the inner pages, design and build a cover, and assemble the books. This project will enable students to generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and artwork as well as convey meaning through the presentation of artistic work. All classes include supplies, instruction, 2-D and/or 3-D design, sharing and reflection.

8-session residency allowing teachers to work with LVA to create a one-of-a-kind program for their students, this program works well for murals and groups of 25 or less. LVA’s artists will work closely with you to develop a dynamic project that explores the academic subject of your choosing.
