| Children's Fine Art Classes Fall Registration Opens August 3rd
|
The Children’s Fine Art Classes (CFAC) have been nurturing young artistic talent since 1925. Established to engage and inspire the next generation of creative leaders, CFAC provides intensive, in-depth visual art experiences for gifted and highly motivated elementary and middle school students throughout the Louisville Metro and Southern Indiana region.
CFAC is tuition-free to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent students from participating. There is a small administrative fee, which is waived for families participating in the National School Lunch Program.
Admission is by recommendation and classes meet for two hours each week during 10-week semesters and are held after school and on Saturdays at schools, churches, community centers, and local businesses across the Louisville Metro area, including Southern Indiana. Registration for CFAC Fall Semester opens August 3rd. |

| 2026 Ohio Valley Biennial Juried Exhibition |
SAVE THE DATE: Opening Reception, September 12, 2026
|
Celebrate the opening of Louisville Visual Art's 2026 Ohio Valley Biennial Juried Exhibition, a juried exhibition showcasing a snapshot of artistic talent from across the Ohio Valley region.
For many years while it was located at the Louisville Water Tower, Louisville Visual Art held a juried exhibit that gave a snapshot view of the artists in the surrounding area. The last time this occured was in 2012. In 2024 we brought this opportunity back for Louisville area artists in our home in the Portland neighborhood.
The LVA Ohio Valley Biennial will coincide with Open Studio Louisville and include cash awards for 3 works picked by our esteemed juror, Dr. fari nzinga. The exhibition will remain on view through November 15, highlighting the breadth and creativity of artists from across the region. This event is free and open to the public. |

The M.A. Hadley Prize for Visual Art was a $5,000 award recognizing Louisville-area artists who demonstrated exceptional commitment to and potential for growth in the visual arts. Funded by the George and Mary Alice Hadley Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Louisville and administered by Louisville Visual Art (LVA), the prize supported enrichment opportunities that advanced recipients' artistic and professional development.
Although the Hadley Prize has since been suspended and is no longer accepting submissions, its impact continues through the accomplishments of its recipients.
The 2019 Hadley Prize recipient, Naveen Chaubal, recently directed Pinball, a contemplative coming-of-age documentary following Yosef, a young Iraqi refugee living in Louisville, as he reflects on identity, family, and the pursuit of his dreams while grappling with the lasting effects of displacement.
The film premiered at the Speed Cinema and included a post-screening Q&A with Chaubal at the Asia Institute Crane House. |
