Admission is by recommendation and classes meet for two hours each week during 10-week semesters and are held after school and on Saturdays at schools, churches, community centers, and local businesses across the Louisville Metro area, including Southern Indiana. Louisville Visual Art is incredibly proud to receive a 2026 AARP Community Challenge grant of $15,000 to support our Portland Neighborhood Revitalization Project. Developed in partnership with neighborhood residents, Louisville Grows, and Habitat for Humanity, this creative placemaking initiative will transform an underutilized space into a vibrant, accessible community gathering place just west of downtown.
This initiative focuses on safety, accessibility, and beautification. Planned improvements include reclaiming overgrown sidewalks, painting crosswalks, adding security lighting, planting a pollinator garden, and creating a new community mural that celebrates Portland’s unique history. |
