Now in its third year, LVA’s CPI initiative—made possible by a $1M gift from artist Clare Hirn—continues to support local artists and curators while placing original artwork in community spaces. For 2024, Lindsey Cummins and Anne Borders lead the newest CPI cohort in partnership with the Earth & Spirit Center. Anne has curated three powerful installations that connect art, nature, and reflection: Casey Dressell – Forest Sunset: A suspended canopy of painted branches and wind chimes creates a calming, multi-sensory forest experience. Jessica Beels – Everything is Connected: A golden spiral made from carved gravestones echoes natural patterns and human legacy.
Matt Weir – Untitled Sound Space: A limestone chamber that amplifies the subtle sounds of the woods, inviting quiet reflection. LVA Spring Break Art Camp - Art Buffet, ages 7 to 12 - Spring Break Art Camp runs from 9:00am-4:00pm. This camp is held at LVA @ United Crescent Hill Ministries, 150 State St., (just off of Frankfort Ave.), Louisville, KY 40206, unless otherwise noted. This camp does not offer extended hours.
LVA Summer Camps, ages 7 to 14 - Regular day camps run from 9:00am-4:00pm, with the option of adding extended hours to make the day from 8:00am-5:00pm. The "themed" portion of camps runs from 9:00am-12:00pm, and the afternoons consist of art-centric games and activities. Each distinctive camp runs one week long. These camps are held at LVA @ United Crescent Hill Ministries, 150 State St., (just off of Frankfort Ave.), Louisville, KY 40206, unless otherwise noted. Saturday Teen Manga Workshops, ages 13 to 17 - Meets at United Crescent Hill Ministries, 150 State St., (just off of Frankfort Ave.), Louisville, KY 40206. Waterfront Park LVA Camp, ages 7 to 12 - Meet 9:30am-4:00pm at the Waterfront Park Office in the David K Karem Building 129 River Road, next to Joe’s Crab Shack (131 River Road). This camp does not offer extended hours.
