Lindy Casebier, a Louisville native, joined Louisville Visual Art after many years as an arts educator/administrator, arts advocate and legislator, serving two governors in senior roles with the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet. For eighteen years, Casebier represented Louisville in the Kentucky General Assembly where he chaired the Senate Education Committee.
A longtime public school educator, Casebier began his teaching career at Valley High School serving there for 14 years and served as District Music Supervisor for JCPS at Gheens Academy for four years.
Casebier has served on the boards of the Louisville Orchestra, Louisville Ballet, Kentucky Governors School for the Arts and the State Arts Action Network for Americans for the Arts. He received his BMEd and MEd from the University of Louisville. In 2003, he was designated an Alumni Fellow by the University of Louisville. In 2016, Casebier was the recipient of the Allen Cowan Innovation Award from the Fund for the Arts. In 2018 he was cited as "Twenty people to know in Non Profits" by Louisville Business First, and was selected as a Bingham Fellow in January, 2019.
