Reception, March 18, 5-7PM at the Louisville Visual Art Association
The Open Doors program, founded in 1989, provides art classes and enrichment experiences to communities with limited access to the visual arts. Projects pair local professional artists with community groups, giving voice and hope to under-served populations.
In order to create meaningful works of self-expression, Open Doors projects are designed to meet specific needs of each population. Each project is a collaboration between the artist and the community and offers tangible tools for communications, engagement, leadership, and positive change, thereby serving to both enrich both the individual participant and the community as a whole.
