Since 1909, the Louisville Visual Art Association (LVAA) has engaged artists and audiences through an energetic agenda of education, community outreach, artist support, and exhibitions. These programs nurture creative expression and stimulate dialogue, thereby enhancing contemporary culture and community spirit.
The LVAA continues its mission to foster creative talent by opening doors, hearts and minds, and providing visibility for artists and art lovers of all ages. We honor the organization's iconic history, and acknowledge LVAA's enduring contributions to enriching economic and cultural development in Louisville and throughout the state of Kentucky.
Today, ART is recognized as a vital component of success in both local and global society. As such, the Louisville Visual Art Association is committed to innovative efforts to bring as many people as possible into engagement with their culture through meaningful experiences of visual arts. As a catalyst for education and participation, LVAA will build community involvement with the arts through collaboration, thereby expanding art opportunities and increasing cultural value.
"I love that in this class there is no 'wrong' way to make art.
In my art I can be myself." Josh Keener, CFAC student
