Heritage Holiday Tree construction with artists Morgan, Moore, and Conaway

About 75 immigrant and refugee youth from various neighborhoods throughout the city, alongside 10 local artists, collaborated on a 16 panel, 26-foot multi-cultural holiday tree celebrating their sacred holiday rituals and seasonal cultural experiences and identities. Several multicultural community organizations were brought together including Americana Community Center, Arcadia Center, Newcomers Academy, Studio Works, Crane House, and Churchill Downs Backside Learning Center. 15 youth and 5 adults from the Americana Community Center and over 500 Louisville residents viewed the final piece on display in the center of the Grand Hall of the Water Tower for three months, serving as both a publicly viewed exhibit piece for the gallery and a center piece for LVAA’s 2010 Holiday Boutique.
