Mural and installation for World AIDS Day at LOT with artist Tara Remington

Artist Tara Remington plus 4 volunteers from the GLBT community created a participatory installation project at the Land of Tomorrow Gallery as a backdrop for “The Normal Heart” play and in recognition of World AIDS day. The project consisted of a red, white, and black color scheme mural displaying a moving poem about AIDS on an 18-foot wall. On the opposite wall stretched a 20-foot wide cloth with 8 white screen-printed images of carefully chosen old newspaper headlines across them. In order to engage the audience, visitors were encouraged to pin names of those they have lost to the AIDS epidemic.
