Ne10: Louisville is the first exclusive neon and self-illuminated glass art exhibition in Louisville and will coincide with the 40th annual Glass Art Society conference in Louisville June 9-13, 2010.
Curated by Wayne Strattman, Ph.D. Dr. Strattman is a board member of the Glass Art Society and for 13 years, has helped promote neon
and luminescent glass art at each annual Glass Art Society conference.

About Wayne Strattman:

Wayne Strattman received a PhD from the University of Sunderland (UK) in
2008 for his many years of work researching, writing, advocating for, and making
sculpture with neon and other advanced forms of lighted glass. His background
degree in engineering is coupled with his work as a researcher, teacher, and
artist. Strattman authored the industry standard textbook "Neon Techniques",
and holds many lighting patents. His Boston based company; Strattman Design is
an industry leader in custom sculpture, architectural installations and lighting.
Dr. Strattman is a board member for the Glass Art Society. He also endowed a
continuing lecture series for the Glass Art Society examining the state of glass art
today, and has started and helped promote an annual neon show at each
annual Glass Art Society conference since 1997. |

As part of the LVAA monthly Food for Thought series, Wayne Strattman will give a lecture about the history of neon glass art. The lunch and lecture begins at 12PM at LVAA and includes a box lunch from Café Fraiche. Tickets are $20 for LVAA members and $30 for non-members.
On Friday June 11, from 6-9PM, the Louisville Visual Art Association will host an opening reception for the exhibition during the Glass Art Society conference in Louisville. The reception is free and open to the public. Wayne Strattman Ph.D. will be on hand to answer questions
and provide information on the artists.
Starting on June 10, ShoeString Productions, in partnership with the Louisville Visual Art Association, presents The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Directed by Kathi E.B. Ellis, the production showcases Shoestring actors Lee Look and Doug Sumey, together with Megan Burnett and Laura Ellis.
