Lindy Casebier, a Louisville native, comes to LVA after many years as an arts educator/administrator, arts advocate and legislator, from 2005-2015 serving two governors in senior roles with the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, Commerce Cabinet and KY Office of Historic Preservation. For eighteen years, Casebier represented Louisville in the Kentucky General Assembly where he chaired the Senate Education Committee for seven years.
A longtime public school educator, Casebier began his teaching career at Valley High School and served as Music Curriculum Specialist -JCPS Gheens Academy prior to becoming Assistant to the Superintendent with the Oldham County Board of Education.
Casebier has served on the boards of the Louisville Orchestra, Louisville Ballet, Kentucky Governors School for the Arts and the State Arts Action Network for Americans for the Arts. He received his BMEd and MEd from the University of Louisville. He was designated an Alumni Fellow from the University in 2003.
