What do you hope your students take away from your class?
I hope students leave my class with a sense of excitement for their next art endeavors! I hope they understand that art is about being willing to keep trying and experimenting until you find your "thing". It's okay to get messy, as long as you're digging for your purpose.
What is your favorite thing to teach and why?
My favorite thing to teach is portraits and color theory, especially color banding used by the old masters! I also created a Surrealist project a few years ago that continues to evolve, and it has been very exciting to see what my students come up with!
