Teri Dryden is an award winning mixed-media/collage artist who uses discarded books as her primary source of materials giving her work an “elegantly frayed aesthetic”. The rich, detailed surfaces created on panel beckons the viewer to look closer and deeper and to revel in the more subtle dimensions beneath. Her collages are abstract yet familiar-even comforting-constructed as they are of common materials that resonate and evoke shared memories, stirring a sort of déjà vu in our collective conscience. Paper is ubiquitous in modern culture, and she uses it as a unifier, reminding us that we’re connected by common sensibilities and materials. Her work has been exhibited throughout Southern California and in Louisville, Kentucky.
