Louisville Visual Art Association and Children's Fine Art Classes
For 85 years, Children's Fine Art Classes (CFAC) have been
the heart and soul of the Louisville Visual
Art Association. This year, 28 dedicated art educators
will provide studio art instruction for over
750 young artists, ages 8-18. CFAC provides quality
instruction, individual recognition and life changing
encouragement to visually talented youth - regardless of
their economic circumstances - at 32 convenient sites around the
Louisville Metro area. Your support directly benefits Children's
Fine Art Classes - America's premiere scholarship-based
Visual Art education program.
University of Louisville Hite Art Institute and the Mary Spencer Nay Scholarship
Art and education were the touchstones of Louisville
native Mary Spencer Nay's life. From her
enrollment in the first Children's Fine Art Class in 1925,
and throughout her celebrated career - as the first Director of the Art
Center Association and as the first full-time faculty member of
the Department of Fine Arts at the University of
Louisville - to her retirement as a studio artist in
Provincetown until her death in 1995. Today, her legacy
continues to impact the visual arts through
an annual scholarship offered to an incoming freshman art
student at the University of Louisville.
