Art transforms Jane's whole being --- she can immerse herself in painting, drawing or printmaking and “forget that the rest of the world exists!”
She graduated from the University of Louisville with a BFA degree, with concentration in oil painting. In addition to this degree, she has many hours in advanced printmaking.
Jane has traveled all over the United States , Canada , Mexico , Europe, Asia , the Caribbean islands. She has participated in Study Programs in San Miguel, Mexico; Hong Kong and southern China; Paris, France; Italy; Greece; Turkey; Harbor Island, and Monhegan Island off the coast of ME. Also, she has participated in painting and drawing workshops and classes in the USA with notable local, regional and nationally known artists.
She has exhibited individually, in group shows, juried shows, and in galleries in Kentucky and Indiana. Her work is in private, corporate and individual collections in the United States . She was selected via jury to be in the 2002 “Hoosier Waters” show in Indianapolis , IN. A book was published with all the paintings and drawings of the Indiana Waterways Project. Her piece was a drawing of Yellowwood Lake .
She founded “The Plein Air Painters of Kentucky” in 1998. She has a Fine Art Gallery that has been in operation since 2006 in the Brownsboro Center on Brownsboro Road. Her primary goal in the gallery is promoting and exhibiting plein air painters.
