William Wallace II
Open Doors Instructor

William is an independent filmmaker. He currently owns and operates Wallace Film, LLC as well as frequently working freelance gigs for film and television productions of all sorts.

Since 2003, William has exclusively worked in this field on projects ranging from feature length independent and studio films, to documentaries, commercial spots, and nationwide television shows. Some of these highlights include working Props on the “2005 Emmy Award Winning Best Made for T.V. Movie” titled Warm Springs, as well as working in roles ranging from Set Decorator to Production Coordinator on commercial spots for A.T. & T., the Army, the Marines and on television shows such ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and on various other productions for Fox, HGTV and the Food Network.

Prior to submerging himself in the “film world”, William did a three-year apprenticeship (1994-1997) learning the art of bronze sculptor under artists such as Raymond Graf and the late Barney Bright. In 1995 William sculpted a bust of Bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe, which was presented to the legend shortly before his death. It was then permanently installed as a memorial to Monroe in his hometown of Rosine, KY.

William is one of the founding members of Nadus Films a non-profit working in Southern Sudan. In 2007 he spent one month as Director of Photography shooting a feature length documentary there. He has sense returned a second time & is currently editing this film “The New Sudan.”

LVAA’s first partnership with William began in 2009. He was hired to teach teenagers from The Baxter Community Center how to produce a short documentary film. The film captures the creation of another educational Open Doors project that entails members of Big Brother Big Sisters of Kentuckiana creating an outdoor tile mosaic mural illustrating the life of Abraham Lincoln.
