Tina Bernstein
Open Doors Instructor

Tina began her artistic journey as a young adult in the world of figurative sculpture after graduating from Boston University’s School For the Arts. In addition to completing commissioned pieces and participating in a variety of art festivals in New York City and a Group Show at The Brooklyn Museum, she spent several years in her twenties teaching art workshops using varied materials with senior citizens and adolescents in an interracial community center and summer camp.

Through participation in a masters degree program in the Creative Arts in Learning Department of Lesley University, Tina began to see the arts as a vehicle for social justice and an avenue to build connections with others. She also discovered the incredible mosaic paradise of Jose Fuster’s gallery in Cuba and began to utilize glass, stone, tile, paper and paint and represent the textures of life - its colors and light, its despair and injustice, as well its hope for a just world.

Tina brings her talent to the Louisville community by facilitating Open Doors projects at the Home of the Innocents and the Family Scholar House.
