Arts Leadership Award Honorees
Charlotte Price One of Louisville’s most esteemed artists and emeritus member of the LVAA Board of Directors, Charlotte Price led “Friends of the Water Tower” in the late 1970’s, providing much of the energy that raised funds to renovate the landmark that has served as home to the LVAA for over three decades. The west wing gallery at LVAA's River Road location is named in her honor. Charlotte’s artwork is in many Louisville homes, gardens, institutions and myriad public sites.
John Begley John Begley is an artist, teacher and curator, and currently heads the University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute galleries and leads its Critical and Curatorial Studies program. An 18-year former director of the LVAA, Begley has produced hundreds of exhibitions and has been an active advocate for the Visual Arts – a founder of Zephyr, LOOK, as well as vital member of the former Mayor’s Commission on Public Art (now, COPA).
Benton Keith A native of Louisville, Benton Keith graduated from St. Xavier High School and received a B.A. in Art History from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Upon graduating from SMU in 2004, he returned to Louisville and joined the insurance industry, and currently serves at Smith Manus Surety Bonds. An alumnus of the Fund for the Arts NeXt! program, Benton served as President of the LVAA Board of Directors from 2009-2012.

The Louisville Water Company Begun as Kentucky’s first public water provider in 1860, Louisville Water provides an abundant, safe supply of drinking water to over 850,000 people in Louisville Metro and surrounding counties. Its original Pumping Station and Water Tower are National Historic Landmarks. For thirty-two years, Louisville Water has proudly partnered with the LVAA to provide its iconic facility as the organization’s headquarters.
