Rick Kremer

Louis & Henry Group

Rick Kremer’s designs seeks to elicit the same thoughts and emotions (reactions) from all, while recognizing that each viewer processes the work differently based upon his/her own unique lifelong experience. Kremer’s work also exhibits the impact of time on how thought and emotion metamorphose as the subtleties of a piece emerge after a bold first impression.

As an architect Kremer has received over 25 Awards for Design Excellence at local, state, and national levels. He is one of seven Kentucky architects elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and was elected that organization’s Vice President in 2000, the highest national office ever held by a Kentucky resident. He is a Richard Upjohn Fellow of AIA, and received the Kentucky Society of Architects Distinguished Service Award, and Julian C. Oberwarth Award for Lifetime Achievement. He has spoken on design in cities across America, Canada, Mexico, and Europe and his works have been published in Architectural Record, Residential Architect, and Builder Magazine, among others.

As an Architect and Developer, notable local projects include Jefferson County’s new Courthouse, Louisville Water Company’s Corporate Headquarters, Park Place Lofts, and Rauch Planetarium. His firm, The Louis & Henry Group, is currently working on the new Louisville Arena.
