Peter Eichhorn and Sarah Tucker

Artist Peter K. Eichhorn is president and owner of Eichhorn Stained Glass, Inc. of Louisville, a full service glass studio specializing in all aspects of the art glass industry including design, layout, production and installation.
Eichhorn was born and raised in Trier, West Germany where he attended Kuristhhochschule (art school) and apprenticed with Bensfeld Art Glass Company. He won the grand prize in the National Journeyman Competition for Art Glass in 1963 and
demonstrated Art Glass as a new field at the International Craft Competition in Lisbon, Portugal.
He came to the United States in 1965 to supervise an art glass studio in Tulsa,
Oklahoma and later settled in Louisville. In 1969, he opened Fenestra Studio in partnership with Bob Markert. In 1985, Eichhorn left Fenestra to start his own art glass studio and has been in operation for almost 22 years. In that time, he has done commissions for residential, commercial and liturgical glass, including
the First Unitarian Church, Big Springs Country Club and Grace Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. Restoration and renovation commissions include Cathedral of the
Assumption and the Kentucky State Capitol Building.
Eichhorn is an active member of the Home Builders Association of Louisville and the Stained Glass Association of America.
Sarah Tucker began working in glass in 2000, while pursuing a degree in Interior
Architecture at the University of Louisville. After graduating in 2003, Tucker
remained at Eichhorn Stained Glass, where she has worked for the past seven years as a designer and general manager. Executed designs include the rose window in the Cathedral of the Assumption’s Garden of Benevolence, The Drummond Executive Center at the University of Louisville, Central Baptist Hospital (Lexington, KY), New Antioch Baptist Church (Baltimore MD), Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Lobby (Somerset, KY), and St. Luke Episcopal Church (Anchorage, KY), in addition to
numerous private residences.
